You may be doing all the right things: eating a healthy diet, exercising and living a generally healthy lifestyle to keep your body healthy and in shape.
However, all these efforts will often not help prevent sagging skin around your face – especially in your 40s and beyond – as it might not respond to even the healthiest regiment.
Sagging facial skin can be a result of environmental factors and poor health habits, but often it’s just due to genetic predisposition. Dry skin, sun damaged skin and smoking are all causes of premature sagging, and sometimes these factors are beyond a person’s control.
Facial Exercises To Tone Facial Muscles
As we age our character becomes more defined. This is expressed through how we dress, walk, eat, and so on, but nowhere is the character more clearly expressed as we age than on the face.
A wrinkled face is not a desirable look by anyone’s standards but as the years catch up with you, short of going under the knife there’s no way to avoid it. While a surgical facelift and laser facial rejuvenation are effective ways to deal with a problem, most of us (myself included) are searching for less drastic solutions, preferably not involving medical scalpels.
That’s where facial exercises and facial yoga come in. I’ve been a fan and practitioner of yoga for many years (although not so much recently, but I never knew that yoga can help me get reduce those deep lines on my face. I just watched a cool video (see it at the end of this post), and I’m definitely eager to try it – I can even do it while blogging or surfing the net – no scalpel or painkillers required – how cool is that!
Why these facial toning exercises work? As with other muscles, face muscles need to be kept in shape. We are all well aware of the benefits of exercise, but exercise should not stop at he neckline. The facial muscles need to be toned and firm. Anyone who works on building muscle strength reduces the chances of muscle atrophy and slack muscles – the common denominator of an aging body.
The facial exercises train the muscles to help lift the skin and drooping and sagging areas are lifted and firmed, minimizing and softening lines and wrinkles.
